As General Manager of Union Square Cafe, Chris ensures the service team’s excellence and warm hospitality, for which the restaurant is so renowned. Chris first joined Union Square Hospitality Group in 2008 as a bartender at The Modern, and subsequently became a Sommelier, helping the restaurant to earn a James Beard Award for Outstanding Wine Service. In 2012, Chris became Wine Director of Union Square Cafe, before being promoted to Assistant General Manager, and General Manager.
Daniel is the Pastry Chef of Union Square Cafe and Daily Provisions next door, overseeing bread and pastry programs at both restaurants. Daniel joined Union Square Hospitality Group in 2014 as a Pastry Sous Chef at Gramercy Tavern, where he worked with Pastry Chef Miro Uskokovic. Earlier in his career, Daniel trained in the pastry kitchen of Jean Georges, and worked as Chef de Partie for Dominique Ansel Bakery during the development of the Cronut.
As Union Square Cafe’s Wine Director, Jason oversees the restaurant’s wine program with an emphasis on classic styles from Italy, France, and the United States. Previously, Jason was a Beverage Director and General Manager of downtown restaurant Fung Tu, and spent time working in Chicago and at the two Michelin-starred L’Atelier de Jöel Robuchon at The Four Seasons in New York. Jason holds certificates from the Court of Master Sommeliers and the American Sommelier Association.
